Iridite
Iridite is a chemical conversion coating process used primarily on aluminum and its alloys to enhance corrosion resistance and improve paint adhesion. The process involves applying a thin, protective layer of a chromate-based compound to the aluminum surface, creating a non-electrolytic coating. This layer provides moderate corrosion resistance and serves as an excellent base for subsequent coatings, such as paint or powder coating.
