What Can Cause You to Lose Your Canadian PR Status?
One of the most common reasons for Loss of Permanent Residence Status in Canada is failing to meet the residency requirement. During a five-year period, permanent residents must be physically present in Canada for a minimum of 730 days (2 years). Any time spent outside of Canada must be justified (e.g., traveling with a spouse who is a Canadian citizen or working for a Canadian corporation abroad).
