In this study, we introduced a novel double crosslinked chitin aerogel via etherification with EGDE for mechanical reinforcement. Samples with different EGDE chitin weight ratios from 0 to 1.51 were fabricated through chitin dissolution in KOH/urea aqueous solution, ethanol neutralization and washing, and supercritical CO2 drying.
