How to Get an Accurate Assessment of ADHD A lot of adults who undergo an assessment for ADHD may falsely exaggerate or even fake symptoms. According to several studies (Marshall, et. al. Citation2016 Suhr, and. and., Citation2008) approximately 27% of adults who undergo a comprehensive ADHD assessment show no evidence of ADHD. Self-report ADHD behavior rating scales are sensitive but have low specificity.
