Background There is growing interest in the use of new biomarkers such as glycated albumin (GA), but data are limited in acute ischemic stroke. We explored the impact of GA on short-term functional outcomes as measured using the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) at 3 months compared to glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c). Methods A total of 1163 AIS patients from two hospitals between 2016 and 2019 were included. Patients were divided into two groups according to GA levels (GA less then 16% versus GA ≥ 16%).
