Diagnosing ADHD in Adults ADHD symptoms can persist throughout the life of a person. These symptoms can have a significant impact on work and family as they grow older. To be diagnosed with ADHD the symptoms you experience must have begun in childhood (technically before age 12). Your evaluator evaluates your medical and personal background.
