High Speed Motor Magnet

In modern times, the application of everlasting magnet (PM) synchronous engines in electrical vehicles offers increased rapidly. This is especially because PMSMs can realize higher speeds than typical AC induction motors. Even so, the high speed operation of PMSMs poses more challenges in electromagnetic design, thermal management and mechanical structure. In order to raise the efficiency and power density of PMSMs, a number techniques have been developed. These include optimizing the particular iron core loss, improving the magnetic induction intensity and harmonic components of different positions within the iron core, reducing the copper consumption by following the toroidal winding shape, and minimizing the number of turns on the end winding.

The most important challenge in the introduction of high-speed PMSMs is to lessen the rotor iron key loss. For this goal, various measures such as adjusting the stator slot opening width, optimizing your pole-slot fit, using a slant slot and also a magnetic slot wedge are already proposed [1]. However, these methods can simply weaken the eddy current losses while in the rotor but cannot entirely reduce them. In improvement, they require complex and expensive control systems.

Another important issue could be to improve the stability of PMSMs at high rates. For this purpose, the application of non-contact bearings is a simple yet effective solution. Among these, air bearings and magnetic levitation bearings include the most promising. In evaluation to ball bearings, these non-contact bearings might support the rotor with a much lower mass and may operate under higher rates. Nevertheless, their cost continues to be prohibitive.

To further reduce the rotor iron lack of PMSMs, it is needed to optimize the installation parameters from the permanent magnets. This is often achieved by applying a new method for analyzing and optimizing the eddy current distribution belonging to the magnetic circuits. This method uses the variety of the finite element model and also a simplified physical model. The resulting model would work for calculating the temperature field of a double-layer V-type HSPMM under loads of conditions.

In contrast that will previous research, which targets on changing the rotor along with stator structures or your cooling mode to lower the operating temperature with the HSPMM, this method does not require any structural variations. It also focuses with reducing the copper along with iron loss by enhancing the installation parameters of the permanent magnets. Moreover, the final results of this method have been verified by comparing the electromagnetic models belonging to the HSPMM with those belonging to the ETCM. As shown with Fig. 7, the converge accuracy and reliability between FEA and MEC will be above 0. 95, so this method can save a variety of times in the electromagnetic calculation procedure for HSPMMs. Additionally, the converged accuracy has additionally been verified with the experimental results of the test model. These results indicate that this ETCM method and the actual temperature field optimization method proposed with this paper are reliable along with efficient.
