Historic churches, beautiful Georgian terraces, and quaint mediaeval cottages are sure to stop people in their tracks as you meander through any British town or city. Beyond sentiments of nostalgia, there is an undeniable pull towards historic structures. Why is heritage architecture so appealing, and what makes it special? And why do so many individuals find historical structures more aesthetically pleasing than newer ones? What are the psychological aspects at play here?
