Thomas Tuchel signs contract to become England’s new national team coach
Thomas Tuchel, former Chelsea and Bayern Munich coach, has signed on as the new manager of England's men’s national football team. He succeeds interim coach Lee Carsley, who stepped in after Gareth Southgate resigned following England's loss to Spain in the 2024 European Championship final. Tuchel, who led Chelsea to a Champions League victory in 2021, will be the third foreign coach to manage England, following Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello. The English FA will officially introduce Tuchel at a press conference, where he faces the challenge of ending England's trophy drought since 1966.
