Bentall Procedure
The Bentall procedure is a complex cardiac surgery that replaces the aortic root, aortic valve, and ascending aorta. It's a specialized surgery performed to address critical issues in the aorta, such as aneurysms or dissections. The procedure involves replacing the diseased section with a composite graft, which includes a prosthetic valve and a tube made of synthetic material (Dacron). The coronary arteries are also reattached to the graft.
