Havelock island, now acknowledged as “Swaraj Dweep”. Havelock island, is one of the most important islands in Ritchie's Archipelago, to the east of Great Andaman inside the Andaman Islands. It belongs to the South Andaman administrative district, a part of the Indian union territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The island is 41 kilometers northeast of the capital city, Port Blair.
Havelock Island changed into formerly named after a British general, Sir Henry Havelock, who served in India. In December 2018, it changed into renamed, via way of means of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Swaraj Island as a tribute to Subhas Chandra Bose.
