Fracture Healing - An Educational Guide
This way of healing is not so common. Primary fracture healing occurs when there is a correct anatomical reduction of a fracture which is stable with no gaps in between. This type of bone fracture healing only requires bone remodeling as no callus formation occurs. Also known as direct healing, primary healing takes a few months to several years, and this depends on the severity of the break.
