Is fosfomycin a strong antibiotic?

Simple urinary tract infections and cystitis are both treated with it. Fosfomycin: Is it a potent antibiotic? Given that it is only taken once, one could argue it is quite potent. Contrary to the majority of antibiotics, which must be taken in pill form over a number of days, fosfomycin merely needs to be consumed once with a glass of water.
