Four elastases and three collagenases were determined to be significantly upregulated in the wound tissues by both RNA-sequencing and qRT-PCR. Cathepsin V was the only protease that was significantly downregulated. All but one metalloproteinase studied was significantly upregulated. None of the serine proteases were significantly altered in the wound tissues.
