Revitalizing the Singapore Stock Market ???

The review committee, chaired by Minister Chee Hong Tat, unveiled its first comprehensive update on recommendations for revitalizing the Singapore stock market on 21st February 2025.

? The headline announcement? A SGD 5 billion Equity Development Programme—a much-needed “booster jab” for the equities market. But let’s be clear: this isn’t a silver bullet or a cure-all solution.

? The success of the Singapore bourse hinges on a full suite of measures yet to be announced and the coordinated efforts of industry players & government agencies. Will it be the catalyst for a market resurgence? Only time will tell.
