Satta King, also known as Satta Matka, traces its roots back to the 1950s in India, shortly after the country's independence. Originally, it involved betting on the opening and closing rates of cotton from the New York Cotton Exchange, transmitted to Bombay (now Mumbai). Over time, it evolved into a full-fledged lottery game where participants wager on random numbers. Pioneered by figures like Ratan Khatri in the 1960s, Satta Matka gained immense popularity in Mumbai's textile mills and quickly spread across India.
